🐾 HISTORY OF RUSSIAN BLUE The exact origins of the Russian Blue breed are somewhat mysterious, but it's believed to have originated in the port city of Arkhangelsk, Russia, around the 17th century. These cats were likely brought to Europe by sailors and became popular among Russian aristocracy due to their striking appearance and gentle temperament. They were first exhibited in England in the late 19th century and gained recognition as a distinct breed in the early 20th century. 🐾 CHARACTERISTICS Appearance: Russian Blues are known for their striking, short, dense, and plush blue-gray fur, which has a silvery sheen. They have bright green eyes that stand out against their gray coat, giving them a distinctive and captivating appearance. Coat: Their double-layered coat is soft and luxurious, with a dense undercoat providing insulation. Despite its thickness, the coat doesn't mat easily and requires minimal grooming.
Size: Russian Blues are medium-sized cats, with males typically being larger than females. They have a sturdy build but maintain an elegant and athletic appearance.
Voice: They are not particularly vocal cats, but they may communicate with soft, melodious chirps and trills, especially when seeking attention or expressing contentment.

This can make them more suitable for individuals with allergies to cats. 🐾 PURRSONALITY Gentle and Reserved: Russian Blues are known for their calm, gentle, and reserved nature. My Russians are well socialised and are not generally shy by nature. They're not typically aggressive and prefer peaceful environments. They are a cat that loves giving and receiving affection, yet at teh same time still have a playful nature.

They're curious creatures and may enjoy exploring their surroundings, although they're not as mischievous or adventurous as some other breeds.
Loyal and Affectionate: Despite their reserved demeanor, Russian Blues form strong bonds with their human companions. They may follow their owners around the house and enjoy cuddling up for affectionate moments. They're known for being loyal and devoted pets.
Playful: While they may not be as high-energy as some breeds, Russian Blues still enjoy playtime and may delight in chasing toys or playing gentle games with their owners.
